CONSERVATION AUTHORITIES
Ontario has one of the more robust systems within provincial jurisdictions for management of water and related land resources on a watershed basis: See Conservation Ontario. The Oak Ridges Moraine supports some of the headwaters for nine of these major watersheds. There will be landowners whose property may fall in to two or more jurisdictions; such is the nature of the heights of the moraine! To address this shared influence the nine conservation authorities of the moraine work together through the Conservation Authorities Moraine Coalition to support hydrological studies and ensure coordinated understanding and management of this place "where the rivers begin".
Depending in which authority jurisdiction your property is located, there may be a range of supports and projects to assist in stewardship work. Follow the link to the Conservation Authority for your area.
