Volunteer Coordinator – 18 month, full time contract – The Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust is seeking an outgoing Volunteer  Coordinator who is a team player and organizational leader. They will recruit, train, support, and actively engage with volunteers in person and virtually – someone who will develop teams that perform essential functions to help us secure ecologically significant habitats to preserve in perpetuity. This is an essential role that will help us reach out to communities across the moraine, welcoming people from all backgrounds, and helping them support the moraine, while feeling valued for their contributions. Mapping and Monitoring Technician – Summer position – 16 weeks. – We are looking for a Mapping and Monitoring Technician with an understanding of the Oak Ridges Moraine and Greenbelt as physical features in Ontario, and the options available to protect these features through various land securement options.  They have excellent GIS mapping and interpretation skills, as well as the ability to read and comprehend legal and technical reports. A self- starter who can work outdoors in various weather, but also great at GIS and mapping activities. As a member of our team, you will be provided opportunities to visit our network of 67 properties across the moraine, exploring ecosystems such as forests, wetlands, meadows, agricultural fields, and much more. You’ll also learn about the technical side of Land Trusts and land protection in Ontario including reporting and monitoring guidelines and natural heritage mapping strategies.
